ATP: Antalya: Sly Adrian Mannarino meets Damir Dzumhur in the final
Adrian Mannarino is in the final of the ATP tournament in Antalya. In the last four, the Frenchman took out his compatriot Gael Monfils and will now face Damir Dzumhur.
The final in Turkey could not host two different characters. Adrian Mannarino is a sly devil on one side and Damir Dzumhur is a power and emotion package on the other.
Mannarino had to play his compatriot Gael Monfils in the semi-final and withstood the unorthodox game of “La Monf”. After a 4:6 in the first run, the lively left-hander fought his way back and showed great taker qualities at the 7:6 (4) equaliser.
Mannarino remained wide awake, profited from his physique against a (once again) battered monfile and finally won 6:4 in the third round.
Dzumhur, on the other hand, met the hard-hitting Jiri Vesely, who is particularly convincing with his stature and height. However, Dzumhur knew how to handle the pace of his opponent and was stable and passionate, especially from the baseline.
A 6:3 and 7:6 (1) success, especially in the first set, makes Dzumhur dream of his first title on grass. At the end of last year in particular, the Bosnian showed what he was capable of. As the season progresses, the endurance in Dzumhur seems to pay off again.
