WTA: Julia Görges in the quarter-finals in New Haven

Wimbledon semi-finalist Julia Görges continues to gain confidence five days before the US Open and has reached the quarter-finals at the WTA tournament in New Haven/Connecticut.

At the dress rehearsal for the last Grand Slam tournament of the year, the 29-year-old from Bad Oldesloe won 6:4, 3:6, 6:4 against the qualifier Dayana Yastremska (Ukraine).

In the round of the last eight, the ninth in the world rankings will meet the Russian Ekaterina Makarova or Magdalena Rybarikova (Slovakia).
