WTA: Serena’s Catsuit? Prohibited in Paris in future

Serena Williams caused a sensation this year at the French Open with her black catsuit. Apparently, France’s federation was not pleased about this.

It was the excitement of this year’s French Open: Serena Williams dared her second comeback after her pregnancy-related time-out – and did so in a skintight, black catsuit. The reactions? Extremely divided. Williams, on the other hand, responded with an appeal to all mothers.

A continuation in catsuit after she had to abort her French Open mission in 2018 due to injury is not to be expected in 2019. In other words, it would probably be banned. This was explained by Bernard Guidicelli, President of the FFT, in the French Tennis Magazine. Before the tournament, they would already be looking at what the players would wear, because sometimes they had gone too far. “Serena’s outfit this year, for example, would no longer be tolerated. You should respect the game and the place.”

Currently, of course, the US Open is in the foreground, and if almost everything in outfits is allowed somewhere, then in New York – as Williams has already proven several times, especially in the night sessions at Arthur Ashe Stadium. We can’t wait to see what their outfitter has come up with this time!
