US Open: ComeOn! match of the day: Serena and Venus Williams in Sister act #30
In the third round of the 2018 US Open, Serena will face Venus Williams. The 30th “Sisteract” between the legendary tennis sisters creates euphoria and high tension among the home fans at the same time. The “Match of the day” is presented by betting provider ComeOn!
Serena Williams vs. Venus Williams. One of the most exciting duels in sports history will write another chapter in the eternal history of the Sisters’ duel at the US Open 2018.
In the third round in New York City, the duel will take place for the 30th time – the outcome is completely open. Venus could close the gap with a win in direct comparison and shorten it to 13:17. However, the past duels between the sisters speak against this. Three of the last four duels were won by Serena, but Venus’ most recent success was at the Masters in Indian Wells this year.
But the signs for the showdown in the Big Apple are completely different. In California, Serena hasn’t been back to her old strength after her baby break, but the 36-year-old seems to be slowly recovering and proved in the first two rounds that she belongs high on the title favourites list.
Against Magda Linette (6:4, 6:0) and Carina Witthöft (6:2, 6:2) the record winner demonstrated her strength in her “living room” and left no doubt about her ambitions.
Venus, on the other hand, had to fight more against old champion Svetlana Kuznetsova and Camila Giorgo. Nevertheless, the 38-year-old still proves that she can keep up with the world’s best and must never be written off.
However, betting provider ComeOn! sees the younger of the Williams sisters favoured and spends a rate of 1.36 for a Serena win. Venus gets the outsider role and enters the race for the round of 16 with a 3.25 quota.
