WTA: Quarter finals! Andrea Petkovic in Luxembourg against Siniakova without problems

Andrea Petkovic has confirmed her good performances of the last weeks. The Darmstadt player defeated Katerina Siniakova in two sets at the WTA tournament in Luxembourg and is now in the quarter-finals.

Top seeded Julia Görges (Bad Oldesloe) has reached her ninth quarter finals this year at the WTA tournament in Luxembourg. On Wednesday, Anna Blinkova from Russia beat the ninth in the world rankings 6:1, 6:4. The 29-year-old was already leading 5:2 in the second set and missed two match points at 5:3. In the round of the last eight Görges will face Donna Vekic, sixth seeded Croatian player.

Andrea Petkovic also proved her good form. The Darmstadt player, who had reached the semi-finals at the tournament in Linz the week before, had little trouble against the Czech Katerina Siniakova (No. 5) and entered the quarter-finals after a 6:2, 6:3.

The former Wimbledon finalist Eugenie Bouchard is waiting for Petkovic there. The Canadian beat third seed Carla Suarez Navarro from Spain 6-1, 6-0 in the Round of 16 for the first time in 14 months, beating a player from the top 50 of the world rankings.
