Davis Cup: Czech Republic versus the Netherlands in Ostrava, Brazil receives Belgium

The first Davis Cup qualifying venues for 2019 have been confirmed. The Czech Republic receives the Netherlands, Belgium travels to Brazil.

The first edition of the new Davis Cup format starts in February 2019 with the qualification for the finals in the following November.

24 nations will compete for the Davis Cup Cup at the Caja Magica in Madrid in late autumn 2019. But first you have to pass the qualification. This also applies to the duel between the Czech Republic and the Netherlands. The Czechs around Tomas Berdych and Co. will compete in front of a home audience in Otrava.

The Davis Cup champions of 2013 have won the title three times, the Netherlands are still waiting for their first triumph. The “Oranje” achieved the best result in 2001 with a semi-final entry.

For the Belgian Davis Cup team the journey to the qualifying duel will be much longer. The tickets to Brazil can already be booked once for David Goffin and Co., because the hosts will compete in front of their fans in Uberlândia and fight for the big coup.

The South Americans are clear outsiders against Belgium and will have to rely on the frenetic cheers of the blue-yellow-green supporters. Thomaz Bellucci, Thiago Monteiro, Bruno Soares and Marcelo Melo are expected to compete for Brazil.

The Belgians will have to be particularly careful of the top doubles Soares and Melo. But with David Goffin and Ruben Bemelmans they have two strong individual players on board.
