WTA: But a title in 2018! Genie Bouchard wins Beach Soccer Tournament

On the tennis court it didn’t work out this season with the big cup, but Genie Bouchard was successful in soccer!

Evil tongues claim that Genie Bouchard has recently done a better job on the beach than on the tennis court. For two years in a row she was a model for the Swimsuit Edition of Sports Illustrated – now she has also made a sporting impact in this context.

Genie took the trophy at the magazine’s Celebtrity Beach Soccer Match, which was held in Miami this weekend for a good cause (with Olivia Culpo, Kate Bock, Myla Dalbesio, Samantha Hoops, Brenna Huckaby, Tara Lynn and others).

At the beginning of 2019, however, their tennis will once again be in the foreground. Bouchard wants to pick up where she left off in 2018: After slipping to 193rd place in the middle of the year, she returned to 108th place among the world’s top players, thanks in part to her semi-finals in Gstaad and Luxembourg.

Will that be enough for a direct starting place at the Australian Open? Rather doubtful, should not yet some players before her cancel. Genie will start her tennis year in Auckland on 31 December, she announced this week.
