WTA: 2019 may come: Karolina Pliskova now available as calendar

In smartphone times, the good old calendar made of real paper is becoming more and more unnecessary… Karolina Pliskova apparently wants to counteract this.

Photographer Ondřej Pýcha has photographed the US Open finalist 2016 and former number 1 in the world in California, Monte Carlo and Prague – a “luxury calendar” was created, the result is advertised on Pliskova’s website. The price is about 53 Euro (for the Deluxe Edition) or 38 Euro (for the regular version). The proceeds are to flow into Pliskova’s foundation.

Pliskova herself, like many of her colleagues, is already in training for the new season after her holidays. Cleverly she has even combined holiday and fitness training, as her latest tweets show…

The 26-year-old will start the new season in Brisbane on 31 December, using the tried and tested material: as it became known today, Pliskova has extended its contract with clothing and shoe supplier FILA, which has been equipping her since 2016, by five years. “Year after year Karolina has shown that she is one of the best athletes in the world. We couldn’t be happier to continue our partnership with her,” says the sports company.
