WTA:”Serena’s gonna surprise me again.”

Serena Williams’ coach Patrick Mouratoglou believes in the big coup at the planned comeback of the ex-number-one after her baby break and wants to be surprised again.

Serena Williams’ long-time coach is certain:”The most successful tennis player of all time will come back after her baby break and be one of the best players again. The comeback of the 23-time Grand Slam winner can be expected at the Australian Open in early 2018 – at least that’s what some official sources such as WTA CEO Steve Simon have confirmed so far.

In an interview with Sky Sports in Italy, Mouratoglou explained his expectations of his protégé:”I am aware that it is extremely difficult to win a Grand Slam after a baby break, but I also know that Serena will surprise me again,”explained the coach who has been working with the ex-number-one since 2012.

With Mouratoglou in her box, the younger of the two Williams sisters won ten Grand Slam titles and three WTA finals.

The first day. In September 2017, the 36-year-old gave birth to her first child after having already won the Australian Open in January.

Williams started working with the Frenchman after a false start in 2012, when the first round of the French Open failed. Since then, the power woman has dominated the tennis scene like no other and broke Steffi Graf’s long-term record with 22 Grand Slam titles in the Australian Open finals against her sister Venus. At the end of last year, Williams was the world’s number one in the ranking, with almost twice as many points as the runners-up.
