ITF Round-up: Double title for Wachaczyk and Herring

In the singles, the German forces from the second row were denied the chance to reach the finals, but in doubles, things went all the better.

Julian Lenz made it to the semi-finals in Birmingham/USA (15,000 US dollars). In the quarter-finals, he had defeated two seeded Argentine Matias Zukas in three sets, but then lost to Fabrizio Ornago of Italy 2-6,2-6,2-6 in the semi-finals.

George von Massow also reached a semi-final in Casablanca/Morocco (US$15,000), defeating Laurynas Grigelis 3-6,1-6.

Katharina Hering also reached the semi-finals in Casablanca, where she lost 6:7 (2), 0:6 to Oana Georgeta Simion, the tournament’s number one. In the doubles Hering celebrated the title: With Olga Parres Azcoitia she won 7:6 (4), 6:2 over Victoria Kan/Maria Zotova.

Julia Wachaczyk’s semi-final was up to the semi-finals of Sharm El Sheikh (US$15,000). The top seeded Wachaczyk was defeated by the native Sandra Samir with 3:6,2:6. In the doubles, however, there was a win – alongside Emilie Francati, she won against Linnea Malmqvist/Naomi Totka 7-6 (6), 6-7 (5),[10-3].
