ATP: Fognini with a side kick against the top stars

Fabio Fognini can’t understand the complaints about the long season on the ATP tour and stings against the top stars. He also has a clear opinion about his relationship with his sports fans back home.

The file Fabio Fognini is often controversial on the tour. Now the Italian went up against the greats of the sport. The extrovert player has a clear opinion on the fact that the season is too long over the year:”Players who play all year round and end up playing an exhibition match and then complain – such players annoy me,”explained the 30-year-old of the Gazzetta dello Sport.

Time and again, players complain that the diary has to change. Recently, Milos Raonic publicly complained about the many tournaments around the globe.

But that’s not all: Fognini also scolded his own fans:”In Italy, people are fans of a player, or against one. There are no true sports fans,”added the number 27 in the world rankings. As the best Italian tennis player at present, the popularity of the “enfant terrible” suffers from its recurring whims and bad behaviour. If I were ever to become the world’s number one, the Italians would still not be happy. They would expect me to become zero,”said the visibly disappointed Southerner.

However, the Italian has a suggestion for a change in the diary:”The diary is of course complex. I think if the season had a short summer break, like about two weeks, and the Davis Cup would be different, it would be easier to live.”
