US Open: ComeOn! Match of the day: Madison Keys in the fight for the final against Naomi Osaka

In the semi-finals of the US Open 2018, the women’s event will feature local hero Madison Keys and Japanese Naomi Osaka. At Arthur Ashe it will definitely be fast and the spectators at the USTA Billie Jean King Tennis Center can look forward to the ComeOn! Match of the day is an exciting game.

Almost a year ago Madison Keys reached the US Open final for the first time and is only one step away from taking part in another final.

The American feels particularly at home in her home Grand Slam and plays her best tennis of the year. Again. In last year’s edition, too, the 23-year-old exceeded all expectations and only had to admit defeat to her good friend Sloane Stephens, who had to pack her bags this time.

Now Fanliebling Keys has to play a strong and focused Naomi Osaka in the New York night. The Japanese did not let much burn in the past competition and underpinned their title ambitions with a clear 6:1, 6:1 quarter-final victory against Lesia Tsurenko. In scorching heat, the 20-year-old fired one winner after another into the field and was particularly convincing on serve.

In the semi-finals, the number of mistakes will be decisive for both players. Both players produce enough winning strokes and also in the service the duel is apparently balanced. With a small advantage for Osaka: If the Japanese player hits as consistently as in the game against Tsurenko, Keys has to dress warmly.

But Keys also has an advantage. The domestic and frenetic fans in the back. Almost 23,800 tennis fanatics will want to wear their protégé to victory on Thursday evening. Such support can get a few percent more out of a player.

Betting provider ComeOn! sees Keys go into the game with a slight advantage and spends a quota of 1.71 for a win for the 23-year-olds. However, Osaka is by no means an outsider in the fight for the final ticket and will be allocated a score of 2.20.
