WTA: Sabine Lisicki has no chance in the final of Taipei

Sabine Lisicki missed the victory at the WTA tournament in Taipei. The Berliner lost to the Thai Luksika Kumkhum in two sets.

The final of the 125,000 US dollar tournament in Taipei lasted only 50 minutes. Then Kumkhum left the field after a 6:1 and 6:3 victory. The Thai had entered the event as number two seeded, Sabine Lisicki owed her place in the tableau to a wild card.

This justified the Wimbledon finalist of 2013 with four strong performances, only in the semi-final against Vitalia Diatchenko Lisicki had to give up a set. For her first participation in the final since 2014, the German took 95 points for the WTA World Ranking. She is expected to be at position 201 from Monday onwards.
