WTA: Through mud and dirt: Williams makes a comeback at “Spartak”run

For over a year now, Serena Williams has not played a match on the professional tour – now, before her comeback at the “Spartak”run, the American is showing herself in great form.

The queen of the ladies tennis world continues to work on her comeback and physical condition after her pregnancy.

Serena Williams’ 2018 match list is not very long – or more precisely, empty. The US-American only had one match in the show tournament at the Mubadala World Tennis Championships and had to admit defeat to the Latvian Jelena Ostapenko in the match tiebreak. Now, the 23-times Grand Slam winner will play her first professional match on official terrain after more than a year. For the USA Williams will play against the Netherlands in the Fed Cup.

In order to regain her fitness, the record winner completed a “Spartak”run. In this obstacle course, various stations are completed – among other things, the participants are allowed to fight their way through mud and mud puddles. The ex-number-one, however, seemed to have had fun with it and posted some videos on her Instagram account. The power woman presents herself in great physical shape. So the comeback can come!

By the way, Mama Williams seems to be preparing for a second career as a tennis coach. Daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian, Jr. got her first mini tennis racket recently. The proud mum wrote:”Olympia Ohanian at Match-Ball, Championship-Point. Even without her shoes, it’s hard to beat her. She’s beating to her 12th. Wimbledon title on – three more than her mom Serena has.”
