WTA: Petra Kvitova back in the Top Ten

Second victory in 2018 – Petra Kvitova has once again been among the ten best women in the world. The victim is a German.

While the WTA caravan continues its journey to Dubai, the results of the WTA Premier Tournament in Doha are reflected in the new WTA World Ranking: Petra Kvitova, who won the WTA World Ranking after her triumph in St. Gallen. Petersburg celebrated their second tournament victory in 2018, improved by eleven places – thus ousting Julia Görges from the top ten. The woman from Regensburg had to give up her match against Kvitova after losing her first set.

Garbine Muguruza, the final loser in Doha, and Elina Svitolina changed places, the Spaniard is now in third place again, the Ukrainian one behind. Angelique Kerber is still the best German in nineth place. The rankings will be led by Caroline Wozniacki, who will not be at the start this week in Dubai.

One of last week’s winners was Catherine Bellis. The young American reached the quarter-finals in Doha via qualifying, thus improving her seven places to 41st place.

Best Austrian is Barbara Haas. The 21-year-old is in 177th place on the WTA charts.
