ATP: DTB Honorary President Claus Stauder celebrates his 80th birthday.

Claus Stauder, Honorary President of the German Tennis Association (DTB), celebrates his 80th birthday on Friday. Birthday. From 1985 to 1999, Stauder had headed the fate of the DTB as president at the wedding of white sport in Germany.

“He has dedicated many years of his life to German tennis and guided our association with a steady hand through what was undoubtedly the most turbulent period in its history. I wish him all the best for the new decade,”said DTB President Ulrich Klaus.

During Stauder’s 14-year term, German players won a total of 28 Grand Slam titles, including the first Wimbledon title of tennis icon Boris Becker and the Golden Slam (victory at all four Grand Slams and the Olympic Games in one year, N. B. C.). d. Red.) by legend Steffi Graf 1988.

In addition to his activities at the DTB, Stauder was a member of the National Olympic Committee (NOK) from 1985 onwards and was a member of the Executive Committee of the Tennis World Association from 1991 to 1993. In addition to the Golden DTB Badge of Honour, his awards include the Federal Cross of Merit and the Order of Merit of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
