ATP-Challenger-/ITF-Round-up: Kamke with Lille-Finale, Pütz wins double title

Tobias Kamke reached the final at the ATP-Challenger in Lille (43,000 Euro), Davis Cup double specialist Tim Pütz won the title. ITF wins also went to Stefan Seifert and Elmar Ejupovic.

The unseeded came into the tournament as number 214 and used the open draw: The 31-year-old entered the final without a duel against a seeded player, where he lost to the local qualifier Gregoire Barrere, number 406 in the ATP ranking, with 1:6, 4:6. In the semi-final, Barrere had eliminated Yannick Maden, who was seeded on three.

Tim Pütz went all the way in the doubles: At the side of the Frenchman Hugo Nys Pütz won 7:6 (3), 1:6,[10:7] over Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan/Purav Raja, who were noted on four and made clear his tenth tournament victory on Challenger level – the third of this year.

Stefan Seifert was victorious at ITF future level. The 33-year-old won his first title since 2013 in Heraklion/Greece (15,000 US dollars) with a 6:7 (4), 6:2, 6:2 over Marcelo Barrios Vera. Seifert has only been back on the tour since the beginning of the year, his last few matches before that he played in 2014 and 2015. In the semi-final he had beaten Rudi Molleker with 6:0, 6:2.

Also victorious was Elmar Ejupovic in Villers Les Nancy (15,000 US dollars). The 25-year-old beat the Frenchman Jules Marie 7-5, 6-4 in the final and won his second ITF title.

Peter Heller reached the semi-finals in Antalya/Turkey (15,000 US dollars), losing 7:5, 4:6, 6:7 (9) to the later winner Ivan Nedelko.

In the women’s singles Caroline Werner reached the final in Tel Aviv/Israel (15,000). The 21-year-old missed her first ITF title by beating Helene Scholsen 5:7, 4:6.
