The founder of the fashion and lifestyle brand, René Lacoste, was one of the best tennis players in the world at the time and won the French Open several times around the 1920s. Born in Paris, he already devoted himself to fashion during his tennis career and discovered a second passion early on.

With his home-made short-sleeved shirt, Lacoste brought about a revolution in fashion in tennis, made the simple polo shirt socially acceptable on the world’s tennis courts and thus created the style of the global company.
Many years later, the Lacoste polo shirt became a cult item and is still one of the most fashionable items of clothing around the globe.
The French textile capital Troyes is considered the birthplace of the unique savoir-faire, which is now exported all over the world. Five steps for the production of a Lacoste polo shirt have been optimized and perfected over many decades.
But why does the Lacoste polo shirt feel so comfortable on your own skin? This is due to a special way of processing the cotton. The high quality cotton is woven using a unique technique on a circular loom to form Petit Piqué. The result is an exceptionally durable and flexible fabric.
To “bring the polo shirt to life”, all parts are assembled by hand and the last step is to sew a braid on the shoulders and collar to give the lifestyle product even more durability.
