Serena Williams is still recovering from the birth of her child and is currently staying away from the WTA tour. There are several dates on TV and the world’s red carpets for this.
Serena Williams’ appearance on the popular Late Night Show with Jimmy Fallon in the USA was just one of a few dates that the world’s most successful tennis player currently had to attend. Or wanted to.
It is undisputed that the 36-year-old American is also a top star off the tennis court. Fulfilling your actual job, playing tennis, seems to be of secondary importance at the moment. Williams’ comeback attempt in the initial phase of the season was sub-optimal for the 20-time Grand Slam winner. Williams played four matches; a third round defeat against her sister Venus in Indian Wells and an opening defeat in Miami against Jelena Ostapenko made it clear that the otherwise so dominant player is not ready for the tennis court again.
In addition to her comeback training, Williams is therefore devoting herself to her second career, which has been quite successful on the side. Serena Williams markets herself with success.
Together with the American TV provider HBO Williams worked on a documentary about her life as a mother, player and private woman. A few days ago the Williams documentary “Being Serena” premiered and the main actress appeared on the red carpet with her husband and other stars.
A successful film also requires the necessary promotion. Williams knows how to do this, she proved during her recent appearance on the talk show with star host Jimmy Fallon. In a good mood, perfectly staged and with a broad laugh, the ex-number-one talked about her life, the film and chatted out of her little sewing bag. As a crowning finale Williams was persuaded into an axe throwing competition and had to leave Fallon the victory. Mama Williams always had fun.
When tennis will come back to the fore seems unclear at the moment. Williams enjoys his public appearance too much.
