WTA: After knife attack on Petra Kvitova: perpetrator arrested after months of searches

Petra Kvitova was seriously injured on her left hand by a burglar in December 2016. After months of searching, the culprit seems to have finally been caught.

On Tuesday morning the Czech police arrested a man who is said to have admitted that he attacked Petra Kvitova with a knife in December 2016.

The arrested person is already known to the police and has to produce a criminal record with various offences. These include further robberies and drug abuse.

An official announcement of the police is still pending, but several TV stations have reported the arrest according to a serious source. Kvitova is said to have recognized her perpetrator in a photo.

The Czech press officer said: “Since we do not want to influence the investigation, we will not comment on it. Petra is in Paris preparing for the tournament. “If we receive an official report, she’ll be able to handle it.”
