Novak Djokovic dedicates himself in his injury break to the good cause: The Serbian wants to open a restaurant in Belgrade, which will serve free meals to needy people.
It has been known for a long time that Djokovic was involved in the planning of the new restaurant.I’ve earned enough to feed the whole of Serbia,”says Djokovic generously in an official statement.” I think the Serbs deserve that, after all the support I’ve received from them.”
In 2015, Nole broke the record for one season’s prize money with over 20 million US dollars. In the meantime, the man from Belgrade has already generated more than 109 million US dollars in his entire career, single and double.
For Djokovic, who became father for the second time in September, it will be the third restaurant in which he is involved. In 2009 he opened “Novak”, a restaurant near the Belgrade Arena in Serbia’s capital. He was also involved in the planning of “Eqvita”, a vegan restaurant in his adopted country of Monaco.
At the opening last year, Djokovic gave an insight into the importance of his diet:”As an athlete, eating means more to me: it’s the fuel that determines how I play, how I recover, and how attentive I am to the tennis court”.
