ATP: Gojowczyk in the round of 16 at Winston-Salem

Peter Gojowczyk has reached the round of 16 at the ATP tournament in Winston-Salem/North Carolina. In the second round of his dress rehearsal for the US Open (starting August 27), the Munich-based player defeated the Argentinian Horacio Zeballos 6-4, 6-7 (4-7), 6-1. 29-year-old had benefited from a walk-through in the first round.

Gojowczyk will now face either second seeded Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busta or Croatian Franco Skugor in the round of the last 16. Last week Gojowczyk failed at the Masters in Cincinnati/Ohio in the second round against 20-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer.
