ATP: “He’s Got Balls!” – Alexander Zverev on the cover of the famous 1843 style magazine

Alexander Zverev is one of the absolute shooting stars of the tennis scene and is seen worldwide as the upcoming new number one in the ATP world rankings. Now the 21-year-old is adorning the cover of the famous lifestyle magazine “1843”.

Alexander Zverev polarizes. Alexander Zverev inspires and Alexander Zverev plays well tennis. Very good, in fact. The highly praised 21-year-old is already mentioned by many experts as the coming number one in men’s tennis. Of course, various lifestyle magazines also become aware of such a player.

This is also the case of the famous magazine “1843” published by “The Economist”. The publisher of the award-winning magazine is based in the UK and focuses on fashion, lifestyle and culture. In the August/September issue you can see Zverev on the cover. The young German and his tennis history so far was selected as an editorial.

Zverev, with his sporty clothes, the famous hair band and a neutral background, gets the headline: “He’s Got Balls! To translate freely, this means that the 21-year-old has a great deal of courage and – metaphorically speaking – a great talent for tennis.

Zverev is described in the magazine as a player with potential to become the future number one in world tennis. Starting with his first Masters title in Rome in 2017, when he left Novak Djokovic no chance in the “Foro Italico” and clinched a clear two-set victory.

The victory over Roger Federer in the Montreal Masters final is also taken as an indication of the Hamburg native’s glorious future. Indeed, Zverev succeeded in doing something historic that day. He was the first teenager since Andy Murray defeated Federer in 2008. At the age of 20, Zverev already owned two 1000 titles.

Meanwhile there are three. Last season Zverev triumphed in Madrid and took the title against buddy Dominic Thiem. Zverev is described as emotional, charismatic and polarizing. Understandably so, because the 21-year-old’s attitude on the pitch is anything but shy. Smashed clubs and verbal battles with the referees are not uncommon.

The cover picture on the “1843” cover is only granted to a few stars. Zverev joins the ranks of top stars. Among others, fashion icon Donatella Versace, actress Angelina Jolie and Meghan Markle, duchess of Sussex, were on the cover.

Zverev seems to be considered an absolute shooting star in the international media. The magazine is also available in selected newsagents’ shops in Germany.
