The car importer KIA Austria has a special present for all fans of the Austrian superstar Dominic Thiem. The South Korean company streams tournament games of the brand ambassador live on the kia.com website.
The car importer Kia Austria shows the matches of the Austrian tennis star Dominic Thiem on its website kia.com. This gives tennis and Dominic Thiem fans in Austria the opportunity to follow his matches live and free on Kia’s website at the ATP250 tournament in St. Petersburg (September 19-23, 2018). The cooperation in the area of branded content was arranged by Lagardère Sports.
Dominic Thiem has already won several ATP tournaments and after a successful season is currently in the top 10 of the tennis world rankings. Thiem was the first Austrian player since 1995 to reach the final of a Grand Slam tournament in June 2018 and only had to admit defeat to Rafael Nadal from Spain in Roland Garros’ decisive match. At last week’s US Open Dominic Thiem was again able to enthuse the fans with attractive tennis.
As official partner of Dominic Thiem, Kia Austria uses the content for the innovative activation of the partnership and at the same time creates an attractive added value for the Austrian fans in his home country. René Petzner, Head of Marketing Kia Austria, explains: “With the first exclusive kia.com live stream of the games of Dominic in St. Petersburg we want to give his fans the opportunity to enjoy all the matches live and for free – hopefully until the final!
Dominic Thiem is also enthusiastic about the activation of his partner Kia: “I am happy that my partner Kia enables my fans in Austria to see my games LIVE and free-to-air in St. Petersburg through this innovative project”.
Nikolaus von Doetinchem, Executive Vice President Global Media adds from Lagardère Sports: “We are delighted to have won over a global automotive brand like Kia for their first joint branded content project. This underlines our orientation that brands can address your target group in an innovative way by broadcasting sports content on their own communication channels and thus activate your partnerships. We look forward to working with Kia!
Kia Motors is the oldest car brand in Korea. Since its market launch in 1995, Kia has also secured an ever-growing position on the Austrian market. Last year Kia entered completely new territory with the Stinger. The sports sedan with up to 370 hp opens up an unprecedented driving experience for Kia, optionally with rear or all-wheel drive. So it goes without saying that Dominic Thiem, Kia’s brand ambassador in Austria, also drives a stinger.
