ATP: Haas: Quiet careerist perfect?

Tommy Haas ended his presumably last season without another official appearance. This was confirmed by his manager Edwin Weindorfer to the German press agency.

After 21 professional years, Tommy Haas’ career seems to end without a last appearance on the big tennis stage:”He will definitely not play an ATP tournament this year,”said his manager Edwin Weindorfer on Monday at the DPA.

You never know with Tommy, he’s surprised a lot of people,”said the Haas manager when asked if the former world rankings runner-up would end his career once and for all.

Born in Hamburg, he had his last professional match on the 1.It may well be that this was my last match,”said the longstanding German number one after his defeat against Jan-Lennard Struff.

Haas celebrated 15.Tournament victories on the Tour and was three times in the semi-finals of the Australian Open.He won the silver medal at the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000, and two years later the American was the world’s number two.Numerous injuries and comebacks followed.

There seems to be no last return. It is hardly possible to say goodbye so quietly.
