The ATP finals are imminent in London and the unofficial tennis world champion is being sought. We give an outlook which player has the best chances to crown the tennis!
It’s finally time! All places for the Nitto ATP finals in London are taken and so it’s time to take a look at the favourites.
Novak Djokovic: The Serb is the top favourite for the title in the United Kingdom. The facts speak clearly for Djokovic: Back on the one in the ranking, since Cincinnati lost only one match (final at the Paris-Masters) and the form curve still points steeply upwards.
In Paris Djokovic showed that he can fight too. In the quarter-finals against Marin Cilic, the world number one caught up a set behind and did not seem to be insecure to anyone. In this mental and physical condition, the “Djoker” can hardly be stopped.
Roger Federer: In Basel and up to the quarter-finals in Paris, the Swiss player was not able to convince at his usual level. This was mainly due to the fact that the premium rate was often only 40 percent. However, this changed against Kei Nishikori in the round of the last eight.
The “Maestro” played dominant and with a lot of variation, the semi-final in Paris was world class, even if the Swiss did not emerge as the winner. Maybe the 20-time Major winner needed such an initial spark. It is well known that Federer feels extremely comfortable in London. Voltage pre-programmed!
Kei Nishikori (replacement for del Potro): Kei Nishikori moves up for the injured Juan Martín del Potro. After several injuries the Japanese is back at his performance level and convinces again with his fast and lively way of playing. However, Nishikori will have to wait and see how the competition in London behaves.
Alexander Zverev: The second participation in a row for the 21-year-old and Germany’s number one has earned that with another great season. Zverev is unchallenged in the Top 10 and belongs to the world top.
For London, however, there could be bad signs this year. A shoulder injury plagued the 21-year-old during the Paris Masters. In the match against Karen Khachanov, the Hamburg player only served with half power and was visibly inhibited in his movement. Keep your fingers crossed that everything will be all right for the grand finale!

Kevin Anderson: The first debutant in the starting field. At the age of 32, Anderson managed to develop himself further and played the best season of his career so far. The South African also won his biggest title in Wie.

Dominic Thiem: Austria’s number had to wait until the last moment and increased again in the last weeks of the year. The first semi-final at a Masters event on hard court should secure the final participation of the Lichtenwörther.
In Paris, Thiem also showed great fighting spirit and could not be disturbed even by set backlogs. A further development can clearly be seen at Thiem. Maybe the 25-year-old can take the next step in London. In this constitution, the Lower Austrian can be trusted to do everything.
