For Dominic Thiem and Roger Federer, the second group game of the Nitto ATP finals is all or nothing. Betting provider betway presents you the “Match of the day” including odds!
Once again, Dominic Thiem is in the Nitto ATP finals in London early on for everything or nothing. And Lichtenwörther is faced with a Herculean task against Roger Federer, who is also under pressure to move.
Both players clearly lost their opening match in London’s O2 Arena. Thiem was defeated by a strong Kevin Anderson, Federer was completely off his game against an ice-cold Kei Nishikroi and never found his way to his game. The training on the free day was also cancelled by the “Maestro” and will go without large training unit into the match against Thiem.
Thiem missed the first set in the opening match, but showed an improved performance in the second set which Austria’s number one can build on. Federer, on the other hand, must play a completely different game in order to have any chance of reaching the semi-finals.
Last year, Federer had failed in the semi-final against David Goffin and this year again he is chasing title number seven in the tournament of the best eight players of the season. Thiem did not make it beyond the group stage at his first two appearances in London in 2016 and 2017.
In spite of the solid opening defeat, betting provider betway Federer sees the Swiss as the clear favourite and sends him into the race with a 1.33 odds. Thiem on the other hand gets the outsider role and gets a quota of 3,25.
