At the turn of the year, top stars of the tennis scene gather annually in Adelaide to play the World Tennis Challenge with legends of the sport. In the next issue Alexander Zverev will also be at the start.
The eleventh edition of the World Tennis Challenge is scheduled for January 2019 and once again the fun tournament in Australia has big names of tennis ready.
The youngsters Frances Tiafoe and Thanasi Kokkinakis were the showpieces of the tournament officials in the jubilee edition at the beginning of this year, now the field is getting even stronger. ATP final winner and number four in the world Alexander Zverev will form the team of France legend Henry Leconte alongside Viktoria Azarenka.
But that’s not all: the spectators in Australia can also look forward to US American Coco Vandeweghe and Croatia’s tennis hopeful Borna Coric. With Azarenka and Vandeweghe, two players in particular are travelling to Adelaide to enchant the public with spectacular tennis.
It will also be spectacular when Zverev and Coric enter the course. The German crowned himself the youngest ATP final champion a few days ago, Coric played the best season of his still young career in 2018.
Both players are only 21 and 22 years old respectively and have a promising career ahead of them. Zverev has already had great success with the London Coup and three Masters titles. Coric’s best result so far has been the title in Halle Westfalen, when he put Roger Federer in his place in the “Hausherr” final.
In addition to the four active stars, Leconte himself and US legend Pat Cash will also be honoring themselves on the pitch. In addition, fun doubles with Trickmaster Mansour Bahrami provide the best entertainment for the spectators.
