After the time-out on the Maldives Dominic Thiem is already back in training for the coming season.
After the season is before the season – and holidays are always over faster than you think. Dominic Thiem has recovered on the Maldives, together with friend Kristina Mladenovic, now it’s time to work hard for 2019!
It’s good to love your job as much as the Lichtenwörther. “The first training on Tenerife is finished. We’re all excited about the next three weeks,” he wrote under an Instagram photo showing him together with brother Moritz and buddy Dennis Novak.
While Dominic Thiem celebrated his greatest success this year with the French Open Final, 18-year-old Moritz Thiem scored his first three ATP points in the main field of a Future Tournament (in Antalya) in the late year thanks to his first three match successes – currently he ranks 1413 in the world with three points.
Dennis Novak had taken his highest ranking in July with 130th place, currently he ranks 145th, among other things because he reached the third round of the main field after surviving the qualification in Wimbledon.
One of the commentators on the training kick-off picture: Galo Blanco, who is no longer in Team Bresnik/Thiem after taking a job at Kosmos-Tennis – the company of football star Piqué, which has turned the Davis Cup upside down, among other things.
“I had the opportunity to get to know Dominic Thiem’s modesty and work ethic and I am pretty sure that he will soon be able to realize his dreams, that we will see him at the top of the ranking and that he will win Major,” said Blanco, who also thanked Günter Bresnik for his cooperation.
