Thus it is already clear at a very early stage in the tournament preparation that with local hero Dominic Thiem (ATP-8) and Nishikori (ATP-9) two current top ten aces will serve next year in Vienna. “To this end, we are striving to engage more superstars for 2019 in the foreseeable future,” Straka added.
This would also set the course for the continuation of the successful tournaments in 2017 and 2018 with more than 60,000 spectators each. “The fact that we were able to break the sound barrier of 60,000 visitors in two consecutive years is a clear indication that the ATP 500 tournament has finally arrived in Vienna,” Straka stressed. The attractiveness of Austria’s most lucrative sporting event for the public is also demonstrated by the fact that the organiser has already received a large number of ticket reservations and pre-orders for the 45th edition of the Viennese tennis classic from 19 to 27 October 2019.
