Before tonight at the 22nd. November-Masters-Series-1000 Tournament taking place against HTT-record man Lukas Prüger, Styria’s HTT star number 1 Alexander Schager has become all concerned about his possible second start at the 25. November to 2. December 2017 in the UTC La Ville HTT Tour finals. Last weekend, the new October HTTT-500 champion from Leoben won the HTT-French-Open-winner Victor Stabrawa, Tour-Newcomer Stefan Kriechbaumer and the youngster Robert Steinhauser, who also debuted last year, to the semi-finals of the last HTT-Masters-1000-Saisonturnier, and was the fifth player to redeem his ticket. A report by C. L.
Number 4 seeded November Master Series 1000 last year’s finalist Alexander Schager prematurely took a place on Sunday evening as fifth player after defending champion Vladimir Vukicevic, HTT French Open Champion Lukas Prüger, HTT US Open winner Patrick Wiesmühler and Masters-Newcomer Matthias Wolf at the showdown of the year’s eight best HTT singles players. The 22 year old upper Styrian rider will be in the elitist circle of HTT Top 8 for the second time in a row, which will be held at the end of the month in the tennis temple UTC La Ville for the 28th time. This is the third time since 1990 that the prestigious Master’s degree has been awarded.
Last year, Schager was the last player to qualify for the Masters, and as a debutant he was the big sensation at the HTT-Tour finals, when the then 21-year-old marched into the finals at his debut performance in the concert of the very greats, and on his way to the semi-finals, he was on the winning streak of Gabriel Jovanovic, who until then had been regarded as unbeatable, with a semi-final victory in the formide-match. The final was followed by a big disappointment in the form of a clear two-stage defeat against Serbia’s HTT superstar Vladimir Vukicevic.
