WTA: Baby happiness in the house of Ivanovic

Pleasing news from the ex-number-one Ana Ivanovic. Only one year after her career’s end, the Serbian woman announces a happy message from overseas.

Just over a year ago, the Serbian woman announced her career end and escaped the turbulence of the tennis circus. Twelve months later, Ivanovic and her husband Bastian Schweinsteiger become parents for the first time. Together with the German football legend, the ex-world-ranked leader lives in the USA and repeatedly shows up with “Schweini” in her adopted hometown Chicago.

Now a third member of the family comes along. On her Instagram account, the expectant mum posted a picture of three pairs of shoes. One for her husband, a pair for herself and a small pair of baby shoes next to it. She wrote:”A small addition to our family. I couldn’t be happier!”

In July 2016, the sportsmen and women said yes to each other. Ivanovic won 15 WTA titles in her career and was at the top of the world rankings for twelve weeks. The Serbian never achieved a Grand Slam victory.
