How would you describe yourself?
I am ambitious, soccer crazy and a family man.
What exactly does your support in the Porsche Talent Team look like?
The financial support makes it much easier for me to travel with my trainer. The intensive contact to Barbara Rittner and her team brings new impulses and of course we players benefit from this long-standing experience in women’s tennis. I’m incredibly proud to be part of this team.
Do you have a lot of contact with other players from the Porsche Talent Team?
Due to the different training locations we don’t see each other very often, but we always get along very well during the training courses or tournaments.
What has been your best moment so far in your tennis career?
The first-round win in Melbourne at my first Grand Slam tournament after winning a three-set thriller.
What is your favourite tournament in Germany? And why is that?
The WTA Tournament in Stuttgart, because I want to win the Porsche:)

What would you do if you hadn’t had the goal of becoming a professional tennis player?
I’d be working in the medical field.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
In the main field of all Grand Slam tournaments.
What was the best tennis advice you’ve had so far?
Playing flat, winning high:)
How do you like to distract yourself from tennis?
By spending time with my family or friends.
What does home mean to you?
Being home with the family.
Where do you prefer to travel – and why?
New York, I think the city is incredibly cool.
What should never be missing in your luggage?
My beats headphones because I listen to music before every match.
What kind of music are you listening to?
The charts.

The current sports studio.
What other sports besides tennis are you interested in – and which athlete?
Soccer – and Mario Götze.
What kind of sports on television do you switch off at?
Golf, darts, horseback riding.
In your opinion, what do you need to bring with you in order to be successful in tennis – and in professional sports in general?
You have to enjoy sports, but above all you have to be willing to work very hard every day and go to your limits. In tennis, the mental area plays a very important role, but also the discipline in everyday life with regard to nutrition, sleeping patterns and so on.
