WTA: Serena Williams plans to return to Indian Wells

Following her cancellation for the Australian Open, Serena Williams (USA) is planning to return to WTA for the WTA tour on 26th October. February beginning tournament in Indian Wells, California.

This was explained by the 23 times Grand Slam winner in an interview with Vogue magazine published on Wednesday.

In the article, the 36-year-old once again formulated her remaining goals:”I would like to make it clear once again: I want more Grand Slams. It’s no secret that I have 25 victories in mind,”said Williams, who, after a year’s break and the birth of her first daughter Alexis Olympia, had not yet felt fit enough for a start in Melbourne.

According to Williams, the offspring give her even more strength for this task. The birth took away many of her fears.”The baby helps me. I haven’t been so scared since I was born. I don’t need any more money, titles and prestige. I want things, but I don’t need them. This is a new feeling for me,”said the former industry leader, who dropped back to 23rd place in the ranking.

Williams also reported that her girl is on the 1st day. They were born in an emergency by Caesarean section on 9 September. The heartbeat frequency of the child had dropped dramatically during labour. The procedure went well,”everything went badly after that. According to this, various blood clots were discovered in her lungs during a CT scan. She had to take anticoagulants. After her return home, she could not leave the bed for six weeks.
