Rafael Nadal will face Bosnian Damir Dzumhur in the third round at the Australian Open – the match tip of the day presented by LeoVegas.
The number one in the world is back in action and will face an unpleasant Bosnian in the third round game.
Damir Dzumhur will not become a self-starter for Rafael Nadal. Dzumhur played a great final phase of last year and celebrated the tournament victories in St. Petersburg and Moscow. With his two-handed backhand, the 25-year-old develops an enormous speed and puts his opponents under pressure. The big plus in his game, however, is his temperament. The Bosnian can bite his way into a game emotionally and likes to push his limits.
Speaking of borders. Nadal showed them to his opponents in the first two rounds. The Spaniard entered the third round without losing a set and dominated his opponents at will. The big endurance test was not yet there – this will change against Dzumhur. The world number one in the rankings will have to concentrate on his work from the very beginning and must not underestimate his opponent.
The 25-year-old proved that Dzumuhur has what it takes to win by surprise in the only encounter between the two players so far. In 2016, Nadal and Dzumhur met in Miami – with a better ending for the younger one. However, it has to be said that Nadal had to throw the towel in the third set at a score of 0:3 and could not continue the game. However, Nadal’s body seems to be in top form before the upcoming duel and is in full possession of his powers.
Betting provider LeoVegas looks similar. The Spaniard gets a win rate of 1.02 and goes into the match as a clear favourite. Underdog Dzumhur receives 18.0 for a surprise win.
