ATP: Novak Djokovic fails comeback in Indian Wells

Novak Djokovic surprisingly failed in the second round of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Indian Wells. The Serbian returning from elbow surgery lost in three sets to the Japanese qualifier Taro Daniel.

Comeback failed! Returning to the tour, Novak Djokovic suffered a bitter 6-7 (3), 6-4,1-6 defeat in the Californian desert. The five-time winner of the tournament could not be recognized against the world’s number 109 at times, the “Djoker”made as many unforced mistakes (61).

In the first round, the former world number one in the rankings was not able to bring a break advantage to the finish, despite the set ball. After a brief rebellion in the second act, Djokovic collapsed completely. In the decision, the 30-year-old Serb conceded the double break and had to congratulate his solid opponent after two hours and 30 minutes for his deserved victory.

After a shrewd forehand from the favourites, Daniel was able to celebrate his first victory against a top-20 player. Djokovic had abandoned the bandage on his batting arm, but physical problems were more frequent in the number 13 in the world, especially during the final phase of the match.
