Winter sports: Hirscher can only laugh about Ligety statements
Now Marcel Hirscher also reacts to Ted Ligety’s wild statements after the cancellation of the World Cup giant slalom in Sölden:”I had to laugh,”says the ski dominator of the past years in an Ö3 interview.
The decision to cancel the World Cup season opener was absolutely right because of the strong wind:”If you see the pictures from Sölden, how it goes on the glacier, then you have to be happy that the decision was made correctly,”Hirscher said.
Ligety speculated on Sunday that the ÖSV would have urged the competition to be stopped so that the injured Hirscher would not lose any points in the race for the overall World Cup.
This statement “amuses” the Salzburg man, he says:”Of course it’s not bad for me, but whether I’m there or not doesn’t make the herb fat” It’s unlikely that Hirscher will start the slalom in Levi, Finland,”I don’t think that this will end, so a lot of things would have to happen. Marcel Hirscher also needs to train.”
