WWE: Survivor Series 2017: The best WWE card in ages!
In the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, Sunday night the Survivor Series will take place. The WWE has rebooked some matches at the last minute, so besides the traditional 5 vs. 5 elimination matches there are also Universal Champion Brock Lesnar vs. WWE champion AJ Styles, the duel of Women’s Champions Charlotte Flair vs. Alexa Bliss and The Shield vs. The New Day on the program. The SPOX tips for the Big Four PPV.
Schlauchy: Despite the departure of Neville, something has happened at the cruiserweights. Swann and Alexander are a formidable tag team, there’s such a thing as storylines, Drew Gulak has become really entertaining with Enzo and Enzo himself carries the division on his shoulders. Of course, a “star”is still missing.
This could be (hopefully) Neville and/or Hideo Itami. A mating between the two would be gold. The match on Sunday justifiably slipped into the pre-show, because neither the feud is good nor the match is entertaining. Enzo Amore will win dirty and then miss against the recurring Neville?
Kneisel: There have been rumours lately that we are on the verge of an agreement and that the King of the Cruiserweights is about to make a comeback. But until it actually happens, I’m dampening my hopes. If Neville does not return, Hideo will remain as a future part of the division.
But after the recent development, I have little hope that the former KENTA will be satisfied with appearing in pre-shows and receiving a noticeably thinner paycheck than his colleagues from the “real” divisions. Enzo vs. Kalisto…. I can’t think of much to say. Yes, Amore is the perfect heel to make the cruiserweights entertaining, but Kalisto’s booking has been horrible since his debut. Of course Enzo Amore will win dirty and drive the next sow through the village with Raw.
Kneisel: The constellations in the World, Day and Women’s Champions matches have been changed to create more attractive pairings. In the IC match, on the other hand, they didn’t decide to do so, although Vince McMahon Heel vs. Heel-Matches feels just as great as those who like to enjoy them or cruiserweights. I am grateful for that, because Miz and Corbin are excellent midcard champs and it would have been a shame to weaken one of them unnecessarily.
The Lone Wolf has been growing noticeably since winning the title and Miz is always great anyway. I am looking forward to this match accordingly, even if in doubt it won’t be long or fireworks. In case of doubt, the winner will be chosen who fits best into the overall result. I’m betting on Baron Corbin, who needs victory more urgently and I’m curious how to book this match. Do you think the Miztourage will play a major role here?
Schlauchy: That’s always possible and it would fit well into the image of Corbin. He loses through surgery and has another reason to complain. When it comes to mite, I see it completely like you. He is a great midcard champ and has earned the massive on-air time. On the other side is Corbin. I don’t see that he has improved since his title win. But this is also simply because he is not allowed to prove himself often and in mite measures.
As Miz has already mentioned in his promo, he doesn’t get much time to present himself at Promos. That’s why I think that his title run has so far been forgotten. Fortunately, however, he continues to carry the title and has not lost it to Jobber Sin Cara. After Corbin’s dreadful summer, the US title win was important. But it is just as important to book it much better now. On Sunday, however, they don’t start with that, but The Miz wins the race to Raw, even though it would be much more important for Corbin.
Schlauchy: You have a very high favorite with the red fire here. In principle, the division is simply stronger and has a broader base. With the addition of Asuka (who will certainly not lose) and the departure of Charlotte, we will see Team Raw win with 100% certainty.
While SD places are allocated automatically, Raw has a real relevance feeling. The girls were hot for a commercial and gave everything they had. Here I liked the red structure much better. I’m looking forward to the match and I’m sure it will be absolutely entertaining. The Survivor will be at least Nia Jax and Asuka, or do you see a way to take Asuka out of the race?
Kneisel: Asuka could only be eliminated if someone attacks her from outside and leaves the hall. But end their winning streak with a countout? What’s more, by whom? Paige making a comeback? Dana Brooke?! No, that’s not going to happen and so Team Raw will be the sure winner for me. Nothing against the SD ladies, but they don’t even have the slight standing to tear anything here.
Alicia is eliminated from the beginning to make it “exciting”, but after that the blue women will see little land. Asuka and Nia – unless she puts on Asuka and gets knocked out by her – are guaranteed to be left, I could also imagine that Sasha or Bayley are spared to emphasize the superiority of the red brand.
