Bob: Lochner wins next German victory in foursome
World champion Johannes Lochner (Stuttgart) has also secured a victory for the German four-man bobsleigh in the second World Cup race of the Olympic season. The 27-year-old won on Saturday on the US train in Park City in front of local hero Codie Bascue (0.05 seconds back) and the British rider Bradley Hall (0.12).
Francesco Friedrich, who won the World Championship in 2017 together with Lochner, was fourth (0.16). Nico Walther (both Oberbärenburg) finished in ninth place (0.32). Walther had still won the first four-man race of the winter on Friday.
Less than three months before the Olympic Games in Pyeongchang (9. till 25. February), the German bobsleds continue to show great potential with large performance fluctuations. A week ago, Walther had already secured a German victory in Lake Placid. The women are also well on their way. Stephanie Schneider (Oberbärenburg) took a remarkable fourth place in Park City, and in Lake Placid she had already taken third place.
