Curling: EC: Women win second defeat
At the European Championships in St. Moritz, Germany’s women curlers won the European Championships. Gall in the second duel have to accept the second defeat. The team around Skip Daniela Jentsch (feet) lost 5:8 against the favourite Swiss women. The previous day, the German Curling Federation (DCV) had to accept a surprising 10:12 against Hungary.

The two German teams not only want to secure their tickets for the 2018 World Cup in Switzerland (at least seventh place each) but also to build up their self-confidence for the Olympic qualification. The aim of the second round of the Olympic Qualifiers in Pilsen, Czech Republic, on 1 December is to secure one of the two starting positions for the winter games in Pyeongchang after the missing direct qualification via the detour Olympic Qualifier.
