Ski-Alpin: Sexual abuse: Second ÖSV sportswoman raises serious accusations
According to Nicola Werdenigg, a second former Austrian female ski racer told the daily newspaper “Der Standard” (online edition Tuesday) about sexual assaults in the 1970s:”We were fair game,”said the athlete, who wants to remain anonymous.
“Something happened to everyone at that time,”said the former ÖSV sportswoman, who explained that she “really had to fight for nothing bad to happen to me”. She described the “standard” as an attempted rape in a hotel: she was “grabbed by a trainer and dragged into a room” He said that it was my turn today,”yet another man had been there,” they were drunk, it was brutal,”she escaped the attempted rape.
The former skier criticized the former skier on a coach at that time. There had been “a trainer who regarded the women on the team as his girls. He just took out all the rights. This was a tradition, so to speak.” Alcohol was often involved.
