Biathlon: Cold: Dahlmeier missing in first World Cup race
Laura Dahlmeier will be missing at least in the first race of the World Cup due to a cold. This was announced by the 24-year-old on her Facebook page on Thursday.
According to SID information, Dahlmeier had wanted to compete in the Mixed Relay (from 5.10 pm at the LIVETICKER) on Sunday in Östersund, Sweden.
“Last week I was looking forward to the upcoming World Cup opening in Östersund with great anticipation. But now a cold has caught me and the first races unfortunately have to wait”, wrote Dahlmeier,”It’s time for me to heal and regain strength before I can start. So instead of gun and ski – ginger tea and bed.”
Whether Dahlmeier for the individual competitions, which took place on Wednesday (29. November) from their home country to Central Sweden, is still questionable at present.
Last season, Dahlmeier was the first German since Magdalena Neuner to win the overall World Cup. Ten victories and seven other podium finishes followed an outstanding winter in which Dahlmeier advanced to the top flight with five World Cup titles and a silver medal.
