Ski Alpin: Brunner surprises in Levi slalom

Mikaela Shiffrin had to admit defeat in the first slalom of the new World Cup season Petra Vlhova. The Slovakian, who was still in second place after the first round, left Shiffrin with a dream race in Levi, Finland, in second place (+0.10).

For Vlhova it was the third World Cup victory. Wendy Holdener from Switzerland finished third (+1.35). The result in detail.

Surprisingly, Stephanie Brunner was the best Austrian. The giant slalom specialist, who started the race with starting number 53, moved up thanks to a strong second place. In the second round, she advanced to eighth place in the second round and thus clinched her first top ten result in the slalom. Michaela Kirchgasser drove directly in front of 22-year-old Katharina Huber to eleventh place.
