Biathlon: Canadian Biathlon Association wants to boycott competitions in Russia
In protest against the doping system in Russia, the Canadian Biathlon Federation does not want to send its athletes to the giant empire for the World Cup and IBU Cup competitions that will take place in March. This was announced by Biathlon Canada in a statement. Holding onto the events causes “great damage” to the sport.
The organisation takes the view that the Russian Biathlon Union should not be allowed, after the exclusion of Russia’s National Olympic Committee from the Winter Games in Pyeongchang/South Korea (9. till 25. February 2018) as the host of sports competitions.
