Ski Alpin: Hirscher also in parallel giant slalom on the Stockerl
After his outstanding performance yesterday Sunday in the giant slalom of Alta Badia, when Marcel Hirscher destroyed the competition, Austria’s ski ace also slammed his fastest turns into the snow in the parallel giant slalom. In an entertaining parallel competition Hirscher had to cancel the sails against Matts Olsson in the semifinal.
Hirscher had previously eliminated the Frenchman Thibaut Favrot, Kjetil Jansrud and Andre Myhrer before finally ending the semi-final against Sweden Matts Olsson. In the race for third place Hirscher met Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, who lost out to compatriot Henrik Kristoffersen in the semi-final. On the blue course, the Austrian Aamodt Kilde took off eight hundredths of a second and can look forward to the next podium finish.
In the final, Matts Olsson Kirstoffersen defeated Olsson Kirstoffersen by three hundredths of a second, thus celebrating his very first World Cup victory.
