Alpine Skiing: Elena Fanchini suffers from tumour

The Italian speed specialist Elena Fanchini has broken off the Alpine Ski World Cup season prematurely. The 32-year-old runner-up in 2005 told the 32-year-old on Friday that she was suffering from a tumor, which she must now be treated for. The oldest of the three Fanchini brothers and sisters will miss the Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang in February.
According to a letter from the Italian Ski Association, this is a benign tumor:”Life, you never know what will happen, I will not give up and face this new challenge with all my strength and courage to come back and make my dreams come true,”wrote the winner of two World Cup races on Facebook.
