Ski-Alpin: Worry about Speed-Ass: ÖSV star Max Franz in hospital

Austria’s speed specialist Max Franz had to skip downhill training on Thursday in Kitzbühel. The Carinthian ski racer is suffering from a severe gastrointestinal disorder, because of which he was unable to attend the traditional media appointment of the Austria Ski Team in Hahnenkamm on Wednesday evening.

The Carinthian even had to be taken to hospital, while his colleagues completed a last training run on the Streif. Instead of standing on the piste on Thursday, we went to the hospital. Whether Franz will be fit for the Super-G (Friday 11:30) or the departure (Saturday 11:30) is unclear.
