Biathlon: WM 2023: Wilhelm and Fischer as ambassadors for Oberhof

The two biathlon Olympic biathlon winners Kati Wilhelm and Sven Fischer lead a five-member committee, which is to support the Oberhof bid for the 2023 World Championships.

In September, the International Biathlon Union will decide on the award of the contract. Oberhof had already hosted the World Cup in 2004.

In addition to Wilhelm and Fischer, Oberhof’s mayor Thomas Schulz and Kay-Guido Jäger (Mayor of Oberschönau) are representatives of the two municipalities and Stefan Schwarzbach from the German Ski Association. To the Olympic Games after Pyeongchang (9. till 18. February) a small delegation will travel from South Thuringia to force the Oberhof World Championships application.
