Ski Alpin: Shiffrin skips World Cup in Crans Montana

The women’s ski world cup in Crans Montana will take place without dominator Mikaela Shiffrin. The US-American waives the weekend races.

The 23-year-old Olympic Olympic Champion of Pyeongchang is not competing in the Super-G on Saturday or the combination on Sunday in Valais. It is the only two disciplines Shiffrin has never been on the podium in this season.

With regard to the overall World Cup, she can afford to be absent from Crans Montana. Shiffrin leads the classification seven races before the end of the season with 671 points ahead of Wendy Holdener from Switzerland.
