Alpine Skiing: Cornelia Hütter misses World Cup Final
Cornelia Hütter will not be able to contest the final races of the Alpine Ski World Cup in Aare next week. According to the Austrian Ski Association (ÖSV), the speed specialist injured herself in a fall during the giant slalom training on the Reiteralm on Thursday. An examination in the hospital Diakonissen Schladming showed a lung contusion and a lesion of the spleen.
The Styrian woman was prescribed bed rest of 10 to 14 days by the doctors “The fall was very unspectacular. I slipped against a pole of the safety net,”Hütter explained in a letter.
“Of course it’s a pity that I can’t participate in the World Cup final. With injuries to the internal organs, however, is not a joke. so I’ll stay under medical supervision for the next few days so I can get out of the hospital as soon as possible.”
